Analog IC Designer (Optoelectronics, High-Speed)
Austin, New Jersey, Toronto
$120,000 - $210,000 seniority/experience
Our client, a rapidly growing technology company specializing in cutting-edge high-speed circuit design, is seeking a skilled Analog Circuit Designer with a focus on optoelectronics and high-performance Analog systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on advanced circuits such as transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), laser drivers, high-speed amplifiers, and more—helping to drive the next generation of high-speed, low-power, and compact solutions. If you have a passion for circuit design and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optoelectronic Circuit Design: Expertise in designing and optimizing high-speed circuits such as transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), laser drivers, and high-speed amplifiers (10GHz and beyond).
- Analog Circuit Design: Deliver low-power, high-performance analog solutions in compact form factors. This includes both high-speed circuits (e.g., TIAs, amplifiers, CTLEs, drivers) and associated low-speed circuits for biasing, control, and power regulation (e.g., opamps, DACs, regulators).
- RF Design (Optional): Experience with RF design (while not essential) is a plus. Candidates will be encouraged to learn and expand their expertise in RF applications, including RF/mm-wave, SerDes, and instrumentation amplifiers.
- Technology Stack: Expertise with BiCMOS technology is ideal; experience with SOI CMOS, CMOS, and FinFET processes is also valuable. What matters most is proficiency in high-speed circuit design.
- High-Speed Circuit Experience: A strong background in designing circuits with speeds above 10 GHz, such as RF/mm-wave components, SerDes, optics (TIAs & drivers), etc., is crucial.
Desired Traits:
- Results-Oriented: A self-motivated individual who takes ownership of projects and consistently delivers high-quality results without the need for micromanagement.
- Collaborative & Personable: You should be a team player who can work effectively with others, sharing ideas, troubleshooting, and problem-solving in a constructive and technically-driven manner.
- Adaptability: We seek individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and ramp up quickly in areas outside their immediate expertise. The ability to become productive in new areas is a key to success in this role.
Growth and Opportunities:
As part of a dynamic and rapidly expanding team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, including:
- IC-Focused Product Line: The company plans to launch a new product that will require 75% of the efforts from the analog IC team, with strong potential for success due to a blend of IC design and systems integration strengths.
- Career Growth: This launch will provide multiple opportunities for team members to take on increasing responsibility and ownership of future product variants, as well as career development in both technical and leadership roles.
Why Join Us:
- Innovative Projects: Work on cutting-edge technologies and products at the forefront of optoelectronics and high-speed analog design.
- Collaborative Culture: Join a friendly, dynamic, and high-performing team committed to achieving excellence.
- Professional Growth: Benefit from the company’s rapid expansion and the opportunities it brings for career advancement and technical mastery.
